Le Prate
A traditional stone house in an exceptional hilltop location south of Todi.
This small Umbrian farmhouse is in Torregentile, a medieval hamlet nestled in the Umbrian hills just a short drive from the charming town of Todi. The property has been well-maintained by the local family who has owned it since 1980, and is immersed in glorious, unspoilt countryside.
Built from traditional local stone, the house features exposed wooden ceiling beams and classic terracotta floors, giving it a strong sense of warmth and history.
On the ground floor the sitting room has a traditional open fireplace that makes it cosy in the cooler months, and a separate kitchen with an open arched doorway. There’s also a bedroom with doors out to the wisteria-covered veranda, and a bathroom.
A steep wooden staircase leads upstairs to three further bedrooms and the second bathroom; at the end of the corridor there’s a roof terrace that looks over the pool to the valley beyond.
The large garden is surrounded by mature trees and offers space and privacy as well as magnificent uninterrupted views of the Umbrian countryside and its seasonal beauty. A veranda is the perfect spot for long, lazy lunches and evening barbecues.
The property is a rural idyll that is also just a short drive from medieval Todi with its 13th century palazzo and cathedral.
