Casa Vittoria
A sustainable renovation using local materials and traditional techniques has resulted in a celebration of old and new in this beautiful and spacious Umbrian farmhouse. Set within the breathtaking Umbrian landscape and yet only an hour from Rome, Casa Vittoria’s generous proportions are full of historical charm and modern comfort
From its position on a grassy knoll, Casa Vittoria has spectacular views up to the hilltop medieval town of Narni and over the rolling Umbrian landscape that surrounds it.
A former farm building that dates from the 18th century, its renovation sought to integrate the old with the new using local materials, with a careful eye on sustainability. Its renovation started in 2010 and it was ended in 2017.
The barn was completely demolished and built back from scratch presenting now a very appealing and modern flow, as well as the former pighouse which is now a double studio apartment building.
As a result, the terracotta floor tiles were made to an original design from Castel Viscardo, the walls are painted in a traditional limewash, the iron-work was forged by local artisans and the ceramic washbasins are handmade by Ripa Bianca.
The property is fully surrounded by a very well maintained park and agricultural land. Casa Vittoria is currently used as a bed and breakfast, as well as a short term rental activity. Given the setting of the estate it can be converted into a private villa, as well as continuing with the hospitality business.
