La Musa

An elegant base from which to explore the beaches and towns of this pretty part of Puglia

La Musa does elegant simplicity to perfection. Set in the middle of a 400-year-old olive grove, this thoughtfully designed property includes a beautiful three-bedroom contemporary villa and a renovated one-bedroom lamia, separated by a 12m pool.

The interiors are a gentle mix of soft, earthy colours and natural materials that include various marbles, local stone and ceramic tiles, as well as linen and wood. Comfort and convenience are perfectly balanced and with air conditioning and a woodburning stove, this is a property with year-round appeal.

It’s a similar story outside where guests have a choice of sitting and dining areas in both the shade and sun amongst beautifully landscaped grounds.

Few people need an invitation to fall in love with Puglia but if one is required, you’ll find it in this gorgeous property, and in its excellent location close to the towns and villages of the Itria Valley and the Adriatic coast.

Kitchen

The modern, spacious indoor kitchen in the main villa is equipped with everything guests might need and a dining table links this room with the sitting room. There’s also a shaded outdoor kitchen that looks onto the olive grove at the back of the villa, with a gas BBQ, sink and induction hob, where locally made ceramic tiles line the back of the counter, as well as the dining table. In the Pool Suite’s living room, there’s a mini kitchen corner with a Nespresso machine, a fridge, microwave, two-zone induction hob and even a half-size dishwasher, along with a marble-topped café table.

Living rooms

The sitting room is in the middle of the villa. There’s comfy seating, and a Samsung Frame TV. Light and airy, it’s a lovely room for relaxing in away from the heat of the sun, or in the colder months there’s a wood stove to keep you cosy. Large double doors lead onto a veranda with a delightful lounge area overlooking the pool. At the back of the property, follow the stone path to the large outdoor fireplace – the perfect spot for drinks. The Pool Suite has a comfy sofa (sofa bed), an armchair and coffee table, as well as a Samsung Frame TV in the open plan living room and kitchen.

Outside

Privately situated amongst the olive groves, electric gates mark the entrance to La Musa and at the end of the drive there’s plenty of space to park in the shade where there’s an EV charging point, too. The landscaping has been designed around the mature olive trees – there’s a particularly lovely gnarled one on the terrace between the house and the pool. Several outdoor dining spots have been created, all with local paving stones underfoot so you can go full holiday mode and leave your shoes inside. The 12m pool sits between the villa and the lamia and has loungers and deck chairs surrounding it. Framed by the buildings at either end, there is a cactus gravel garden to one side and a sculptural white wall on the other. Directly in front of the villa is a lounge area that’s shaded by the house and looks onto the pool. Go round the back and you’ll find the outdoor kitchen which is the perfect set-up. Follow the path through the olive grove and you’ll find another terrace with chairs in front of a large outdoor fireplace. And then, of course, you might want to watch the sunset, in which case, head up the zigzag outdoor stairs to the roof terrace.

Your villa and Covid-19

To prevent any possible spread of Covid-19 and to enable you to enjoy a safe and relaxing holiday, all our villas are cleaned to the highest standard possible, and according to the latest Italian health and safety regulations.

Perfect hygiene: to ensure an exceptional level of hygiene in all our villas, we’ve worked with our owners to create a Covid-19 villa management protocol. Based on recommendations from the World Health Organisation, and in compliance with current Italian national law, this protocol goes above and beyond our usual rigorous cleaning standards.

Prior to arrival, your villa will have been fully sanitised, including all surfaces, objects, kitchen items, curtains, sofas, throws, pillows, toys, and in and around the pool. You are welcome to ask for a detailed list of the entire cleaning procedure we do after each departure and before welcoming new guests to the property.

The owner of this house has complied with the following standards:

  • To ensure the necessary information concerning social distancing and the use of masks is available to all guests
  • To guarantee availability of and accessibility to hand hygiene systems with hydro-alcoholic solutions and soaps in all inside areas of, and pertaining to, the villa
  • To guarantee cleaning and disinfection of all areas according to national authority guidelines. Further information is available on request
  • For the swimming pool: to guarantee the efficacy of the water treatments, while respecting legal limits (the parameter for free active chlorine in the pool is between 1.0 – 1.5 mg/l; combined chlorine ≤ 0.40 mg/l; pH 6.5 – 7.5 or equivalent oxygen)
  • For air conditioning systems: to guarantee the air re-circulation function is switched off and, according to the manufacturer’s instructions, with the plant in off-mode, to clean the air filters of the heating/cooling plants that use heat pumps, fan coils and convectors, at the end of each stay
